If Christmas is about FINDING the perfect gift, perfect outfit or the perfect people, you will be disappointed!  As we celebrate Christmas, we need to make sure to find Christ in CHRISTmas.  We can do this by seeking Christ, taking out the “dirty laundry” in our lives and living the living the lives we are called to live.

Seek Christ

The Bible is full of scriptures about finding things, such as the parable of the coin (Luke 15:8-10).  Pastor Brent’s son lost his expensive and specialized eye glasses.  After they were missing for weeks, Sarah insisted everything stop and the entire family search the house from top to bottom until they were found.  Once they were found, everyone rejoiced!!!  The glasses have great value and they were worth putting forth effort to find.

Nicodemus was a Pharisee who sought out Jesus in the middle of the night (Jn 3:1-18).  He found Jesus and his life was changed.  We too were once lost but now we are found!

When we seek after Christ, we will find Him!!  We can seek after Him by opening and reading our Bibles.

Take out the Dirty Laundry

Many of us have let things build up in our lives.

“In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, ‘This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.’” 2 Kings 20:1

Hezekiah needed to make things right.  The reason many people aren’t walking in the power of God is because they haven’t made things right in their lives.  This process often starts with repenting.

“From that time on Jesus began to preach, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.’” Matt. 4:17
