Pr. Brent Weide

Brent Weide

Pastor

I’m the senior pastor here at Freedom Fellowship. Nothing gives me more privilege than serving the people of Southeast Wisconsin. I am passionate about helping people experience God’s love and forgiveness.

I grew up on a farm in Oconomowoc and I was just 8 when I felt a strong call to be a pastor. That dream and desire started to unfold during Bible College. I served on staff at another church before being led to start Freedom Fellowship.

I’ve been married to Sarah since 2000, and we have 4 beautiful children; Ashlyn, Caleb Joshua, and Micah, In my spare time, you can find me hunting, fishing, or catching a ball game.

Vision Statement

  1. To glorify God as we partner with Him to build His church locally and to the ends of the earth
  2. To turn the lost and unchurched in Ozaukee and Washington Counties and all of Southeastern Wisconsin into fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.
  3. To shepherd and pastor international missionaries.

Core Beliefs

God

Deuteronomy 6:4

Matthew 3:11-17

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

Luke 2:52
John 4:6
Hebrews 5:8
John 1:3
John 20:2

We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true Man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven, where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate, and in the person of the Holy Spirit, He indwells the believer.

Holy Spirit

John 14:26
Romans 8:144
John 16:8
John 3:5-6

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life: who proceeds from the Father [and the son]: who with the Father and Son together is worshipped and glorified: who spoke by the prophets. We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit today is to help the believer carry out his or her walk of faith. His offices include convicting, regenerating, sealing, indwelling, guiding, instructing, comforting, and empowering for life and service.

Mankind

Romans 5:12-21

We believe man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore spiritually dead. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

Salvation

John 3:16
Romans 5:10-11
2 Corinthians 5:18-20
Galatians 4:4-6

We believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except by believing that his death on the cross and subsequent resurrection from the dead three days later paid the sin debt of the entire world. It is only by receiving his death as payment for his or her personal sins that the believer is born of the Holy Spirit and thus becomes a child of God.

Ordinances
Acts 16:30-33
1 Corinthians 11:23-26

We believe water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during this age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.

The Church

1 Corinthians 12:13

We believe the true church is composed of all such persons who are regenerated by the Holy Spirit through saving faith in Jesus Christ, are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is Lord and Head, and are commissioned for the God-given task of proclaiming the Gospel to every person. Only those who are thus members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church. Every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.

Christ’s Return

1 John 2:28
Acts 1:9-11

We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that this has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.

Judgment

John 5:28-29
Revelation 20:11-15

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead: of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and eternal separation from God.

Church Covenant

Our Covenant

We confess our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and sincerely desire to serve Him faithfully in the fellowship of His Church. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we will order our lives according to the Scriptures and will endeavor to set a Christian example at all times and to witness to others that they may believe. We promise to make diligent use of all the means and opportunities for spiritual growth. We promise to promote the Lord’s work at this Church by our gifts, prayers, and service, to preserve the unity of the Spirit, to encourage one another to love and good works, and in all things, to give our Lord, Jesus Christ the preeminence.
