Pastor Brent realized that his garage is full of “junk,” meanwhile his vehicles (that have value) are sitting outside.  The junk is taking up valuable space.  It is like our minds.  We have lots of space, but we fill it up with junk instead of valuable things.

If you would like to experience the complete service (including worship and prayer time), please view our Live Stream of the service on our Facebook page.

In this message, Pastor Brent gives us some practical tips on how to evaluate what we’re putting in our minds and how to renew our minds.

Evaluate Who/What is Taking Up Space in your Mind

Who are you getting your news from?  What are you reading?

Ultimately, we need to realize that the Bible is the only reliable source of information!

“Blessed is the one…. whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.  That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers.”  Psalm 1:1-3

Who are you hanging out with?  Are you hanging out with people that make you better and point you to Christ?  People that are speaking Godly truth in your life?  We need to be aware of who we are letting influence us!

Renew Your Mind

God tells us to renew our minds:

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”  Romans 12:2

We can renew our minds by:

1) Praising God.  Thank God for who He is and what He has done for you.  Thank Him for the blessings He has given you.

2) Worship God.  Worshipping God is more than singing.  It starts with surrendering our lives to God.  When we surrender to God, we are getting rid of the “garbage” in our lives.

3) Stop focusing on your problems and start focusing on Jesus.
