Pastor Brent recently had the privilege of going on a remote fishing trip to Canada. The experience, and what followed at our church, reminds us of the profound ways in which faith guides us through the busyness and struggles of life. As Brent looked at the brilliant stars and wrestled with his own anxieties, he was struck by how God is mindful of each of us—even in the vastness of the universe.
Three takeaways:
- Pause and Seek God’s Guidance: Sometimes, instead of pushing harder, we need to get away from distractions, be still, and trust that God is in control of our circumstances, both big and small.
- Resilience Grows Through Challenges: Just like trees that thrive and strengthen through wind and rocky soil, our faith and character deepen through life’s trials. It’s in adversity that we become most resilient and impactful.
- Let Go and Embrace Divine Direction: Our own efforts only take us so far. When we surrender our plans and follow where God leads—even when it feels counterintuitive—we experience blessings greater than we could have planned ourselves.
Let’s remember to call on Him, listen for His leading, and trust that He is working all things for our good—even and especially in the storms.
