Pastor Brent was driving and noticed a unique field.  Half of this field was green & flourishing while the other half was browning and stunted.  The green half of the field was irrigated – it was receiving water.  As Christians, we may experience a spiritual drought.  We can deal with spiritual droughts by seeking water, soaking in the Word of God and Living for God.

Seek Water

Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”  Jn 4:13-15

Like fields will dry out without water, we will dry out without Jesus. We drink living water by seeking Jesus DAILY.  We can’t rely on past spiritual experiences; we need a continual filling.

Soak in the Word of God

We need to be in the Word of God daily.  Satan knows scripture too (Mt 4:6) and will try to twist it to confuse you. Be in the Word so you know what it says!

Even Jesus spent daily time with His Father:

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”  Mt 4:10

Pastor Brent’s daughter’s car died because the battery was not getting recharged (the alternator was not working).  We too need to recharge by being in the Word of God.

Live for God, Not Yourself

Pastor Brent was out on the lake on a hot day.  There were lots of fancy boats out on the lake.  What purpose were most of the boats serving?  Were they merely for enjoyment and status or were they being used to advance the gospel?

“Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.”  Deut. 6:13

Are you serving yourself of advancing the Kingdom of God?
