Pastor Brent recently had the privilege of going on a remote fishing trip to Canada. The experience, and what followed at our church, reminds us of the profound ways in which faith guides us through the busyness and struggles of life. As Brent looked at the brilliant stars and wrestled with his own anxieties, he was struck by how God is mindful of each of us—even in the vastness of the universe.

Three takeaways:

Pause and Seek God’s Guidance: Sometimes, instead of pushing harder, we need to get away from distractions, be still, and trust that God is in control of our circumstances, both big and small.

Resilience Grows Through Challenges: Just like trees that thrive and strengthen through wind and rocky soil, our faith and character deepen through life’s trials. It’s in adversity that we become most resilient and impactful.

Let Go and Embrace Divine Direction: Our own efforts only take us so far. When we surrender our plans and follow where God leads—even when it feels counterintuitive—we experience blessings greater than we could have planned ourselves.

Let’s remember to call on Him, listen for His leading, and trust that He is working all things for our good—even and especially in the storms.

This message is about how to navigate life’s hardships with faith and resilience. Drawing from Acts 27–28, Pastor Brent explored the Apostle Paul’s response to shipwreck, adversity, and criticism, offering practical wisdom for anyone facing tough seasons.

Key takeaways:

Be an Encourager: In the midst of crisis, Paul reminded others to “take and eat,” encouraging them to draw strength from God. Staying grounded in faith empowers us to encourage those around us, even when we’re struggling ourselves.

Keep Serving Through Affliction: Keep serving others, even during personal trials. Paul gathered firewood for the group after the shipwreck, modeling servant leadership—don’t let hardships stop you from being a blessing.

Turn Crisis into Opportunity: Several points were raised, including the idea that hardship can open unexpected doors. Whether it’s starting a new ministry after a health crisis or building relationships in unforeseen circumstances, adversity can be the catalyst for new growth and impact.

Trust that, even in the hardest times, you can “shake off the snake” and let God turn your setbacks into opportunities for greater purpose.

Pastor Brent focused on navigating spiritual dry seasons and the importance of moving forward with hope and action. Even those perceived as strong in faith can experience times of stagnation and dryness.

Key Takeaways:

Acknowledge and Address Dry Seasons: Spiritual dryness can impact anyone, regardless of past victories or current appearance. Recognizing these moments is the first step toward growth.

Let Go of Past Successes: We can risk of relying too much on previous achievements. Pastor Brent compared this to a hayfield—if not harvested at the right time, it becomes unusable. Moving forward requires cutting down old ‘blossoms’ and making room for new opportunities.

Take Initiative and Don’t Wait: Pastor Brent encourages us to act today rather than procrastinating. Whether it’s addressing unresolved issues, serving others, or stepping out of comfort zones, the encouragement was clear—”make hay when the sun shines.”

Let’s move forward together, embracing new opportunities and committing to growth—both personally and within our communities.

Through transparent stories and Scripture, we were reminded that even in chaos, God is more than enough.

3 Key Takeaways:

Focus on What Matters: Direct your attention to what God is doing, not just the challenges you face. When overwhelmed, shift your perspective from problems to the opportunities and blessings at hand.

Stop Trying to Fix It Alone: Sometimes we make things worse by relying only on ourselves. Instead, be still, pray, and let God guide your next steps.

Radiate Positivity: In work and daily life, let your gratitude and trust in God shine, impacting those around you. A thankful attitude can transform even the toughest environment.

No matter what you’re navigating, remember: you are not alone, and there is always more than enough grace and provision for what’s next.

In this message, Pastor Theo Williams explores the often-overlooked subject of emotional healing within the Christian faith. Drawing from personal experiences, biblical examples, and practical steps, Pastor Theo challenges common approaches to emotions—like suppression—and encourages us to invite God into our emotional lives, scars and all.

In this message, we look at how Jesus himself expressed the full spectrum of human emotion without sin, how trauma and emotional wounds can affect us, and why true healing often begins with vulnerability—both with God and with trusted others. Whether you’re grappling with anger, joy, sadness, or navigating deep wounds, this message offers hope and direction towards wholeness in Christ.

Key takeaways:

Healthy Emotional Expression is Biblical
We’re called to invite God into our emotional lives—joy, anger, sadness, and all. Scripture gives space for a full range of emotions as part of spiritual health.

Distinguishing Immaturity from Wounding
Not all emotional struggles stem from trauma. Sometimes what we need is not healing but maturity—learning how to grow and manage our emotions well.

Healing Starts with Vulnerability
Just as Jesus showed his scars, true healing often begins when we step into trusted community, acknowledge our wounds, and allow others to support us in prayer and presence.

In this message, Pastor Brent shares about “New Beginnings,” and how our perspectives and attitudes can transform even the stormiest days into opportunities for growth and gratitude. Whether it’s the beauty of spring after a long winter, or finding renewal after personal failures, God’s faithfulness was a central theme.

Key Takeaways:

Perspective shifts everything: Even rainy, cold mornings can bring lessons and refreshment if we look for God’s blessings in them.

You are not your failures: Remember, even spiritual giants like Moses, David, and Peter struggled, but God’s faithfulness covered them—and it covers us too.

Be a blessing: When we focus on serving others and sowing generosity, we not only help those around us but also experience God’s abundance in our own lives.

This week choose to focus on what God is doing, release the past, and choose to be a blessing wherever you go!

This deeply personal message is about navigating change, overcoming feelings of inadequacy, and the importance of community. Pastor Brent’s reflection on March’s unpredictable weather is a powerful metaphor for spiritual and personal growth.

Here are 3 key takeaways:

Leave the Past Behind: Don’t let past failures or hurtful words define you. Like Pastor Brent, we can choose to break free from old lies and step into a new season of promise and purpose.

Find and Focus on Your Purpose: Ask God what His plan is for your life. Discover your gifts and passions, and use them to serve others—moving beyond day-to-day survival toward meaningful action and service.

Surround Yourself with Community: True growth happens when we gather, encourage, and spur one another on. Isolation isn’t the answer; together, we build up the body and find our own “Esther moment” to make a difference.

If you’re in a time of transition, let this be a reminder: Press forward, lean into community, and pursue the calling set before you.

In this message, Pastor Brent Weide reminds us that no matter our past or how we may feel, God sees us, values us deeply, and invites us to find our worth in Him.

What are we expecting from life, from God? If we walk through life expecting disappointment or believing we don’t matter, that’s often what we’ll find. But God tells us a different story: we are each fearfully and wonderfully made, knit together with purpose and love.

Drawing inspiration from the “Island of Misfit Toys,” Pastor Brent shared how many of us have felt like misfits—whether during our school years, in our own families, or even in our spiritual communities. Even after achieving milestones or recognition, he admitted it never filled the emptiness. The message is clear: our value isn’t based on accomplishments or the approval of others. Only Jesus, the “Living Water,” fulfills and defines us.

The sermon walked us through the biblical account of the Samaritan woman at the well. She was shunned, cast aside by society and by men who divorced her. Yet, Jesus met her personally, offering her living water and a new identity. She left her water jar—her old life—behind, transformed and bold in her testimony.

We need to stop labeling ourselves by our past, mistakes, or even our achievements. We are not defined by these things; we are defined by Christ. Through Him, we are chosen, valuable, and capable—a royal priesthood who can confidently approach God.

Key Takeaways:

You are not your past. Today is a new day; God is flipping the page for you.

You are valuable. Jesus gave everything for you—His life.

You are chosen and capable. You can approach God directly, expecting Him to move in your life.

Leave the old behind. Like the woman at the well, step boldly into your identity in Christ.

In this message, Pastor Brent Weide shares a story from a frigid Wisconsin winter—an adventure that quickly turned into a lesson about how we prepare for the storms of life, and what truly keeps us “warm” in challenging seasons.

He reminds us: It’s not just the physical gear that helps us endure, but what’s happening inside us—our source of strength, faith, and community.

Key takeaways:

Preparation matters—inside and out. Just like boots and coats keep the heat in, we must intentionally “clothe” ourselves with faith and truth to endure life’s challenges.

Don’t go it alone. We need each other—encouragement and fellowship make the journey through deep snow (or tough times) possible. Isolation can make us easy prey for discouragement.

Keep your fire burning. The warmth and passion for life come from a connection with God—the source within, not just your own willpower or self-focus.

If you’re feeling the chill of discouragement or isolation, remember: you can rekindle your fire. Get connected, get equipped, and never underestimate the power of God—or your community—to help you through.

As we welcome the start of a new year, Pastor Brent shared this message about hope, fresh starts, and finding strength in faith—especially amidst the uncertainties of today’s world.

Key takeaways:

Commit to Spiritual Renewal: Rather than just making fleeting New Year’s resolutions, Pastor Brent emphasized investing in spiritual commitments—making Jesus the Lord of our lives and allowing Him to guide us through valleys and mountaintops (Psalm 23).

Strengthen Relationships through Forgiveness: Genuine fellowship thrives on bearing with one another, letting go of grudges, and committing our relationships to God. A spirit of forgiveness is essential to healthy community and personal growth.

Let Your Light Shine in Darkness: Even as our society faces overwhelming challenges and “darkness”… revival and transformation are happening. Young people are leading the way, and they remind us the light of Jesus shines brightest when the world feels dim.
