The Call to Be a Lighthouse for Christ
In this message, Pastor Brent draws on his recent trip to Door County and the practical realities of lighthouse keeping to illustrate the Christian’s calling to be spiritual “lighthouse keepers” in today’s world. He emphasizes that just as lighthouses guide ships away from danger, Christians are called to keep the light of Jesus burning brightly by living out their faith boldly, prioritizing Christ above all else—even family or comfort—and sharing the gospel without compromise. Pastor Brent challenges us to examine our true priorities, warning against complacency and a watered-down faith, and encourages them to keep pressing forward in faith, focusing on Jesus as the guiding light through life’s challenges, and actively pointing our families and circles of influence toward Him.
Are We There Yet?
In this message, Pastor Brent uses the relatable question, “Are we there yet?”—often asked by children on family trips—to illustrate our natural tendency to focus on life’s milestones while missing the importance of the daily journey. As Christians, we are “not there yet”; instead, we’re living in a spiritual war zone where we must daily clothe ourselves with the armor of God, depend on Christ’s strength, and resist the temptations and distractions of the world.
Breaking Free from Lukewarm Christianity
In this message Pastor Brent challenges the congregation to examine whether their faith is truly passionate or has become lukewarm, influenced by worldly pursuits like prosperity and knowledge. Drawing from biblical examples such as Adam and Eve, the message contrasts living for material success and self-betterment with pursuing a true relationship with Jesus, described as the “tree of life.” Pastor Brent urges listeners to move beyond passive church attendance and seek a deeper, living faith marked by praise, prayer, and forgiveness. He calls for a “Great Awakening” within the church—encouraging believers to let go of unforgiveness, focus on Christ rather than worldly wisdom, and boldly live out and share their faith in everyday life.
