In this message, Pastor Brent talked about what’s next when you’ve just come through a season of hard work, celebration, and even loss. Whether you’re riding the highs or navigating the valleys, remember: stay rooted in Christ, pray over your family and business, farm the land you’ve been given, and don’t forget to stop and celebrate every win along the way.

In this message, Pastor Brent talked about what’s next when you’ve just come through a season of hard work, celebration, and even loss. He shared about the power of looking back to reflect on God’s faithfulness, leaning into prayer as the foundation for future breakthroughs, and serving our communities right where we’re planted. Whether you’re riding the highs or navigating the valleys, remember: stay rooted in Christ, pray over your family and business, farm the land you’ve been given, and don’t forget to stop and celebrate every win along the way. Stay inspired, stay grateful, and keep moving forward!

Listen to Service Here

Key Take-aways:

Prayer-Filled Foundations

Pastor Brent reminds us that all effective ministry and personal growth start with prayer. By “digging ditches” through faithful, consistent prayer—both individually and as a church—we prepare the ground for God’s movement in our lives and community. Devoting ourselves to prayer is not just a prelude to action; it is essential work that protects, guides, and sustains us through every season.

Faithful Stewardship of Your Calling

We are called to “farm the land” God has given us, which means tending to our families, neighbors, and spheres of influence with care and persistence. Like a farmer picking rocks from the field or a volunteer serving selflessly, we’re encouraged to do the daily, sometimes difficult work of evangelism, service, and discipleship—trusting that God uses even our small acts of faithfulness for His greater purpose.

Celebrating God’s Goodness

In the midst of busyness, hardship, or success, it’s important to pause and “smell the roses.” Pastor Brent challenges us to look back in gratitude—celebrating salvations, marriages, personal healing, and every evidence of God’s faithfulness. By stopping to reflect and praise God, we anchor ourselves in joy and keep our perspective rooted in His ongoing work.

Dan Sommer delivers a powerful message on the true purpose of church and the critical role each believer plays in spreading the Gospel. Dan reflects on personal experiences, theological insights, and the transformative power of faith in this message.

Listen to Service Here

If you would like to experience the complete service (including worship), please view our Live Stream of the service on our Facebook page.

Key Takeaways:

Active Ministry Participation

Every believer is called to ministry. The church is not just a place for worship but a training ground to prepare us for witnessing and spreading God’s word. Dan emphasizes the necessity of each one of us becoming ministers of the Gospel, not just relying on church leaders.

Personal Spiritual Growth

Dive into the Bible personally and regularly. Dan encourages personal Bible reading and understanding, rather than an over-reliance on external sources. He suggests simple practices like reading a chapter of Proverbs each day and joining Bible studies to deepen your faith.

Evangelism and Relationship Building

Christian evangelism should center on building relationships and sharing experiences. Dan’s testimony about his conversion and the impact of his faith on others, underscores the importance of living as ‘walking advertisements’ for Christ, by being approachable, happy, and forming genuine friendships.

In this message, Pastor Brent talks how doubt sometimes creeps in amid life’s challenges. Despite these moments of uncertainty, his steadfast faith in Jesus Christ remains unshaken. Encountering both miraculous healings and unanswered prayers, Pastor Brent continues to trust in God’s plan while inviting the community to join him in prayer, fostering a strong, united fellowship grounded in faith and support.

Understanding Unconditional Love

Pastor Brent emphasizes the importance of recognizing that God’s love is not conditional on our achievements, or the expectations placed upon us by others. Through his personal story of feeling overshadowed by his brother, we learn that God’s love is unwavering and innate because we are His cherished children.

Embracing Past Victories

Drawing from the story of David and Goliath, Pastor Brent teaches us to remember and document personal victories, both large and small. By doing so, we build confidence in our faith and can draw strength in challenging times, knowing that God has been and will be with us through all of life’s battles.

Living in the Holy Spirit’s Power

The episode calls us to rely on the Holy Spirit rather than our own strength. Pastor Brent reflects on the power of prayer and the Holy Spirit’s role in healing and guidance. Trusting in God’s greater plan, and harnessing the spiritual tools given to us, we can confidently walk in our identity as victorious children of God.

In today’s message, we look at how life’s chaos and a critical spirit can make us miss experiencing Jesus. Highlighting powerful testimonies, we see the importance of breaking routine worship, focusing on spiritual transformation, and embracing God’s miracles. Let’s reflect on our homes, rid ourselves of jealousy, and uplift our communities.

Key Take-aways:

Welcoming the Wounded

Everyone is welcome in God’s house, regardless of past hurts or perceived unworthiness. Pastor Brent shares the moving story of a Vietnam veteran who overcame his reluctance and found acceptance in the church. This powerful narrative reminds us that the church should be a haven for all, embodying Christ’s unending grace and love.

Embracing God’s Grace

Life may seem unfair, but God’s grace offers a path to salvation for everyone. Pastor Brent challenges us to look beyond life’s inequities and recognize that divine grace is what saves us. Calling out our collective tendency towards jealousy and criticism, he implores the congregation to uplift and celebrate each other, just as Christ has done for us.

Focus on Spiritual and Relational Priorities

A balanced life requires prioritizing your family and personal relationships over worldly pursuits. Pastor Brent stresses the importance of maintaining spiritual and relational health at home to truly experience Jesus. He highlights the need to support those in authority with prayer rather than complaints, underscoring that love for God and family should drive our lives.

Pastor Brent shares from the heart about the importance of love and support within our church community. Recounting his own need for community in the wake of a recent heart procedure, he calls us to reciprocate that nurturing spirit, reaching out to care for one another in encouragement and love. As we witness global events that echo the signs of end times prophesied in scripture, Pastor Brent implores us to remain vigilant and steadfast in our faith.

Key Takeaways:

The Power of Community Support

In a time when isolation can be prevalent, Pastor Brent reminds us of the vital importance of reaching out and caring for one another within the church, just as Christ loves us.

Faith Amidst Hardship

With insights from the lives of Job and Paul, we gain a powerful perspective on facing life’s trials with faith and understanding that Christian life isn’t free from struggles – rather, it’s about how we persevere through them.

Active Love and Encouragement

Being a beacon of Christ’s love, especially to those who are facing tough times or have strayed from the church, is not just a kind gesture – it’s a calling that can have an extraordinary impact on the lives of others.

While observing birds outside a window recently, Pastor Brent considered why birds come to the feeder – it’s because that’s where the food is.

When you consider why you attend church, do you ever ask yourself why it is that you’re going?

Is it to compare yourself with others?

Is it for the community?

Is it because of the beautiful building?

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. – Matthew 6:33

We should be coming to church to seek God’s kingdom. What does seeking God’s kingdom look like? Where do we “eat”? Where do we fill our souls?

All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. – 2 Tim 3:16

Do you have plans this New Year to get into scripture? There are so many tools now that make it easy to read your Bible on a daily basis. If you’re looking for a plan to follow, or even for a great Bible app for your phone, check out Youversion.

Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of scripture, to preaching and teaching. 1 Tim 4:13

We need to read, study, and know the Bible. Read it in public; church, school, library, and at home over our children. Culture is now dictating what the church is teaching rather than the church influencing culture.

Pray without ceasing – Give thanks in all circumstances. 1 These 5:16-18

When you struggle, do you try to figure it out on your own? Or do you take it to God first? God should be both our first and last thought each day. The One we go to when we are struggling.

We should be praying confidently to God about all our concerns. Praise Him and ask Him for what you need, then leave it in His hands. God is not too busy to listen to you. You have been redeemed. God cares about you and every tiny detail in your life.

In the coming year, Freedom Fellowship will be focusing on getting back to the basics, where to find the “food”.

We also need to go out and serve others by letting Jesus shine through us. Do people see Jesus in the way you treat your spouse or talk to your children, or even the way you work?

Be kind one to another. Tenderhearted, forgiving one another. Just as God, through Christ, has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

We’re all dealing with some trial in our lives. How do we overcome our challenges and additions in this fallen world? We become intimate with God. We become intimate with God by drawing near to Him, earnestly seeking Him and pressing forward.

Draw Near to God

“Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8

We need to make the necessary steps to draw near to God…pray, read the Bible and make changes in our lives that are holding us back. We need to confess our sins and change our sinful patterns.

Earnestly Seek God

In order to save his life, David was running from Saul. David was called a man after God’s own heart because he RAN to God. He put situations in God’s hands.

“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1

We need to stop trying to fix our problems on our own strength. Instead, we need to rely on God’s guidance, help and strength.

Furthermore, we need to make sure that we’re not making decisions when we are hungry, angry, lonely or tired!

Keep Pressing Forward

“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Phil 3:14

If you are going to be successful in anything, you will have failures along the way. Keep pressing forward, even when you fail!

Three ways to press forward:

Be strong in the Lord. 2 Timothy 2:1 admonishes us to be “strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” We can’t do things in our own strength, we must rely on God’s strength.

Don’t be stubborn! How easy it is for us to dig our heels in and refuse to change or make things right with people. Instead, we need to humble ourselves and move forward.

Commit to the goal! The goal of our church is to make disciples. Are you working on becoming a disciple? Are you intentionally making disciples!
