In this message, Pastor Theo Williams explores the often-overlooked subject of emotional healing within the Christian faith. Drawing from personal experiences, biblical examples, and practical steps, Pastor Theo challenges common approaches to emotions—like suppression—and encourages us to invite God into our emotional lives, scars and all.

In this message, we look at how Jesus himself expressed the full spectrum of human emotion without sin, how trauma and emotional wounds can affect us, and why true healing often begins with vulnerability—both with God and with trusted others. Whether you’re grappling with anger, joy, sadness, or navigating deep wounds, this message offers hope and direction towards wholeness in Christ.

Key takeaways:

Healthy Emotional Expression is Biblical
We’re called to invite God into our emotional lives—joy, anger, sadness, and all. Scripture gives space for a full range of emotions as part of spiritual health.

Distinguishing Immaturity from Wounding
Not all emotional struggles stem from trauma. Sometimes what we need is not healing but maturity—learning how to grow and manage our emotions well.

Healing Starts with Vulnerability
Just as Jesus showed his scars, true healing often begins when we step into trusted community, acknowledge our wounds, and allow others to support us in prayer and presence.

Key takeaways:

Victory Over Barriers: We often allow “stones” like unforgiveness, guilt, doubt, and pride to block our view of Christ’s victory, both in life and in the workplace. Removing these obstacles leads to greater freedom and purpose.

Joy That Transcends Circumstances: True joy isn’t dependent on our challenges but is rooted in the resurrection—empowering us to walk through difficult seasons and losses with hope and resilience.

Purpose in Sharing Good News: The resurrection calls and equips us to move forward, filled with the Holy Spirit, sharing hope and victory with our families, colleagues, and communities.

In this message Pastor Brent challenges the congregation to examine whether their faith is truly passionate or has become lukewarm, influenced by worldly pursuits like prosperity and knowledge. Drawing from biblical examples such as Adam and Eve, the message contrasts living for material success and self-betterment with pursuing a true relationship with Jesus, described as the "tree of life." Pastor Brent urges listeners to move beyond passive church attendance and seek a deeper, living faith marked by praise, prayer, and forgiveness. He calls for a "Great Awakening" within the church—encouraging believers to let go of unforgiveness, focus on Christ rather than worldly wisdom, and boldly live out and share their faith in everyday life.

Remember: you have a calling, and by embracing it with purpose and prayer, you can truly set yourself and others free. Let’s be difference makers—starting now.

Listen to Service Here

Prayer as the Church’s Core Calling

Prayer isn’t just a ritual but the distinguishing mark of God’s people. Pastor Brent urges us to become a “house of prayer,” reminding us that being prayer warriors—earnestly and consistently seeking God for ourselves and others—is the greatest responsibility and power the church holds.

Resisting Distraction and Indifference

Our world offers endless distractions, from personal pursuits to recreation and wealth. Pastor Brent challenges us to set our minds “on things above,” confronting both our busyness and our indifference toward others. Real spiritual fruit comes when we truly care—when we prioritize God’s mission over comfort and pray with active compassion for those in need.

Activating Freedom and Spiritual Breakthrough

Many of us live feeling spiritually chained—by hurts, health struggles, or unforgiveness. Pastor Brent testifies to the real power of prayer in breaking chains, both personally and for others. He calls the church to expect God to move, to let go of past hurts, and to commit ourselves to earnest, faith-filled prayer as the path to true freedom and healing.

Listen to Service Here

Key Take-aways:

Turn Despair to Hope

Focusing on our problems keeps us in despair, but gratitude and shifting our focus to Jesus lifts us into hope. Start your day with thanks, and see how God reshapes your heart.

Trade Bondage for Freedom

Like free-ranging turkeys compared to caged chickens, Christians are meant to walk in the authority and freedom Jesus purchased for us—not self-imposed bondage or fear. Remember Galatians 5:1: “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.”

Step Out of Darkness and Into the Light

Confess, repent, and keep short accounts with God. When the Holy Spirit highlights an area misaligned with His will, give it to Him and walk forward in the light.

This week, Pastor Brent brought us a word straight from his heart—and his experience getting dirty in the pouring rain. The story began with a flooded church parking lot and a culvert completely clogged by sticks, mud, and even… dead animals! As he and his friend worked for hours to clean it out, a spiritual parallel started to form.

Pastor Brent challenged us to look at the “culverts” in our lives—those emotional blockages, traumas, doubts, or “sticks” that keep the Holy Spirit from flowing freely through us. Sometimes it’s religious tradition, fear of the supernatural, or unconfessed sin. And too often, even when we know what God is pruning away, we stack up these “sticks” instead of burning them—holding onto things that keep us stagnant.

Listen to Service Here

Scripture Focus:
John 15:1-10 – Jesus is the Vine, we are the branches. He calls us to remain in Him, to let go of what’s not bearing fruit, so that we can bear much fruit to the Father’s glory!

Three Steps to a Clean Culvert:

Clean Out the Sticks: Identify and confess the areas of doubt, pride, fear, or tradition blocking God’s flow in your life.

Burn the Sticks: Don’t hold on to what God is cutting away. True change and repentance mean letting go.

Stop Waiting for Someone Else: Don’t assume someone else will do the dirty work—get involved, use your gifts, and let God multiply them for His Kingdom!

Next Steps and Challenge:

Is God nudging you about an old hurt, a tradition, or a sin you need to release? Pray about it. Even if it feels uncomfortable, let the Holy Spirit work in those places—it’s how we learn to trust Him and become fruitful.

Baptism is a beautiful first step, signaling that the old is gone and the new has In this message, Pastor Brent talks about what it really means to exercise your freedom—not just as an American, but as a believer. Just like fireworks need to be lit to inspire awe, your faith needs to be lived out and activated. Declare your freedom in Christ, stand firm when challenges come, and walk in step with the Holy Spirit every single day. Don’t let comfort hold you back; step out, share your faith, and watch God do amazing things in your life and community. Let’s go beyond the box—let’s set our freedom off and see what God does!

Stand Firm and Fight for Your Spiritual Freedom

Freedom requires action and sometimes a fight, both spiritually and practically. Pastor Brent shared stories of people boldly exercising their rights, and how as Christians we should be unafraid to express and defend our faith—even when facing resistance from unexpected places.

Walk in Step with the Spirit

Daily dependence on the Holy Spirit is the key to victory. Instead of fretting about the past or worrying about the future, we’re called to live obediently in the present. Let’s start each day with a simple prayer: “Lord, here I am, use me.”

Community, Fellowship, and Awe

The early church devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, and prayer—and God moved powerfully among them. We’re encouraged to meet together, build each other up, and pray expectantly, believing that God is still working miracles today!

In this message, Pastor Brent talks about the obstacles to true contentment—pride, jealousy, and rebellion. Just like missing those raspberry bushes in our own lives, we can unknowingly cut off blessings and breakthroughs meant for us. The secret? Learning contentment in every circumstance, just as Paul did, and surrendering our full selves to a higher purpose over self-promotion. Whether in business or faith, breakthrough comes when we let go of comparison, embrace humility, and serve with a grateful heart. Let’s shift from chasing more to finding fulfillment right where we are.

Whether in business or faith, breakthrough comes when we let go of comparison, embrace humility, and serve with a grateful heart.

Key Take-aways:

Contentment Through Christ

True contentment doesn’t come from possessions or circumstances, but from a deep relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor Brent points to Paul’s letter to the Philippians as the ultimate guide, reminding us that even in the hardest trials or seasons of lack, “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” We are challenged to let Christ be enough for us in every area of our lives.

Identifying Hidden Barriers to Blessing

Often, we miss out on God’s blessings because of unseen issues like pride, jealousy, and rebellion. This message urges us to search our hearts for these subtle hindrances—whether it’s seeking self-promotion, comparing ourselves to others, or refusing God’s direction—and actively surrender them. By recognizing and addressing these hidden barriers, we open ourselves up to greater spiritual breakthroughs.

Surrender Leads to Spiritual Breakthrough

Breakthrough and a move of the Holy Spirit begin with full surrender. Pastor Brent emphasizes that God desires a willing heart above outward acts; only when we lay down our desire for control, acknowledge our weaknesses, and say “yes, Lord,” can God truly use us. Church revival, restored marriages, and miracles become possible when we let go and let God direct our lives.

Pastor Brent shared a message of hope and perseverance. He reminded us of our unique divine creation, urging us to seek our God-given purpose with confidence. Through personal stories and the inspiring story of Lazarus’s resurrection, we learned that surrendering our struggles to Jesus can lift us above life’s challenges. Trust in God’s plans, embrace faith, and let your spirit soar like an eagle on divine thermals. Remember, your hope and strength come from the Lord.

Key Take-aways:

Uniqueness & Purpose:

Drawing from Psalm 139:13-14, Pastor Brent highlights that every individual is uniquely created with a divine purpose. He encourages listeners to recognize their personal uniqueness and never feel like they are merely on the sidelines of life.

Confidence in Jesus, Not Self

Through the metaphor of an eagle supported by thermals, Pastor Brent illustrates how relying on God, rather than our strength, can help us rise above life’s challenges. He warns against placing our confidence in worldly entities and stresses the importance of surrendering to Jesus for true peace and resilience.

Overcoming Sin & Finding Hope

By referencing John 16:33 and John 11:35, Pastor Brent discusses the need to surrender sin to Jesus and trust in His victory over the world. He shares that while life brings trouble, Jesus’s compassion and victory over sin, death, and disease give us hope and reason to trust in God’s plan for us.
